  • Yesterday I said goodbye to my job after 3 years, thousands of patients, crazy fast growth, tons of health transformations, amazing friendships and an incredible learning experience! I'm thankful to @markhymanmd for the amazing vision and mentorship and to @erica_stepteau for the encouragement (and for sharing this last week with me!).   • Yesterday involved lots of baking for some upcoming holiday parties! These Sesame Matcha Cookies from Liz Moody @sproutedroutes taste even better than they sound! They are also super low in added sugar (I tripled the recipe and only used 1/2 cup pure maple syrup). Id highly recommend topping with orange zest for an out of this world flavor combination! #matcha #paleocookies #sproutedroutes
  • This week has been filled with goodbyes. More than I've experienced in a longtime--from patients and co-workers and friends to my students and other people that have come into my life this semester. It hasn't been easy. But then again honoring yourself isn't usually easy. If it were easy then everyone would probably do it more. The hardest part about honoring your own needs is that it usually means letting go of someone or something that you love or thats served you. But what I've learned is that it's a little easier when we let go from a place of love. Love is space. The more space we create for ourselves, the more space that we create for others to find their own strength and reach their fullest potential. Today I'm trusting in the plans of the universe, embracing the unknown, and choosing love over fear. Hold space for yourself today and find freedom in the surrender! #happyfriday #loveisspace #breathlessyoga
  • In September of 2014 my first day of work was in Scottsdale, Arizona at the @instituteforfxmed's 5 day course, Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice. I was told that I'd never go back to the traditional way of thinking after looking at a patient from a functional medicine/nutrition lens. That means thinking about the body as one connected organism, using food as medicine and continuously peeling away layers to identify the root cause of disease. Even though I have less than a week left in my current job position, I'm 100% confident that i will never see it any other way. I've had the honor of seeing too many people change their lives with this approach to do it any other way.   • Hell yes to this! I've been in a serious rut all week after being sick and not working out. Started this AM at @risenationcle and was able to finally get out of my head and into my body! And let me tell you, it felt SO good!! I crave exercises that challenge me and help me push past my own perceived limits. Everyday we have the choice to grow and get stronger!
